Welcome to the website of Nan Sidler. Here you will find a selection of Nan’s paintings and drawings from the past 7 years. While Nan has used many mediums as an artist, watercolour and graphite are her favourites.

“The versatility and portability of both watercolour and graphite lend themselves to a wide range of subjects, from landscapes, to still life, to portraits. I can easily pack my paints, brushes and pencils in my backpack, scoop some water from a nearby stream or lake, and develop quick or detailed sketches on location, depending on my timeline. I also take many reference photographs of my subjects, which I classify and keep in my studio, along with props and materials which I find extremely useful, especially when doing still life. I have a passion for detail, and work in a traditional realistic manner, usually taking many days to develop the final images in my studio. Sometimes I will do a fully rendered drawing of a subject before I do the painting, which helps me work through the values, the light and the composition of the final image.”

As well as original art works, Nan has limited edition giclee prints available for some of her paintings. These are indicated in the portfolio pages.
